SEEKING VOLUNTEERS for Active Living Bemidji Bicycle and Pedestrian Counts
Posted: Aug 28, 10:51 AM
Active Living Bemidji will be conducting bicycle and pedestrian counts in the Bemidji Area from 4-6 p.m. on September 11th, 12th, and 13th and from 10-Noon on September 15th and is seeking volunteer counters. These counts will help us understand how many people in Bemidji are walking and biking and assist MnDOT and the Minnesota Department of Health in planning for bicyclist and pedestrians. We want to know in the future how our activities to promote and encourage Active Living translates into real increases in people walking, biking, and being active. We are seeking volunteer counters to take tallies of bikers and walkers at various locations on the dates above. It only takes 2 hours of your time to help Active Living in this project.
Volunteers are also asked to attend a one hour training session where they will receive an information packet about how to tally walkers and bikers and what site they will be located at and an Active Living t-shirt.
These training sessions will be held at the following times:
• Tues Sept 4th from 6-7 p.m. Ozawindib Room, Hubson Memorial Union, BSU Campus
• Wed Sept 5th from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Conference Room, Bemidji City Hall
• Thurs Sept 6th from 6-7 p.m. Ozawindib Room, Hubson Memorial Union, BSU Campus
• Mon Sept 10th from 5-6 p.m. HRDC Offices 403 4th Street NW Suite 310 Downtown Bemidji
If you are interested in volunteering please visit the site below to sign up and select a location to participate in bicycle and pedestrian counts.
